Grief Changes More Than Our Emotions.
Ā

Loss can affect almost every part of life.

It can change how we sleep.

How we relate to other people.

How we experience holidays and important dates.

How we see ourselves.

How we imagine the future.

And sometimes even where we believe we belong.

My Place After Lossā„¢ creates space to explore those changes without expecting grief to follow a particular timeline.

The goal isn't to "get over" the loss.

The goal is to learn how to carry what matters while continuing to live.

Love Lives On.

Grief exists because something—or someone—mattered.

Healing doesn't require erasing that relationship.

Instead, participants are encouraged to explore ways of remembering, honoring, and carrying meaningful connections forward while gradually rebuilding life around the reality of the loss.

What was lost matters.

What remains matters.

And the life ahead still matters.

The My Place After Lossā„¢ Journey

The program guides participants through a structured process of understanding grief and rebuilding
connection, meaning, and hope.

SEE
Ā

What Changed?

Begin by acknowledging the loss and recognizing how life has changed.

Participants explore their grief story, emotional responses, relationships, routines, and the areas of life most affected by the loss.
Ā

UNDERSTAND
Ā

What Am I Carrying?

Grief can include sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, loneliness, relief, fear, regret, and many other emotions.

Participants learn to recognize and understand their individual grief experience rather than judging how they believe they "should" be grieving.
Ā

REPOSITION
Ā

Who Am I Now?

Loss can change roles, relationships, responsibilities, and identity.

This part of the journey explores an important question:

Where is my place now?

Participants begin identifying what has changed, what remains, and how they may begin moving into the next chapter of life without abandoning the previous one.
Ā

CONNECT
Ā

I Don't Have to Carry This Alone.

Grief can create isolation.

Participants explore supportive relationships, communication, asking for help, boundaries, and ways of remaining connected when grief makes connection difficult.
Ā

REPAIR
Ā

Making Space for What Hurts.

Loss can leave behind unfinished conversations, regrets, anger, guilt, relationship wounds, and unanswered questions.

Participants are given opportunities to acknowledge those experiences and explore healthy ways of responding to what remains unresolved.
Ā

BELONG
Ā

Finding My Place After Loss.

Moving forward doesn't mean moving on from the person or life that mattered.

It means gradually discovering how remembrance, meaning, relationships, responsibility, purpose, and hope can coexist with grief.
Ā

The final part of the journey asks:

What do I want to carry with me?

Who is walking with me?

What still gives my life meaning?

What might my next chapter look like?
Ā

    Ā

There Is No Single Right Way to Grieve.
Ā

Some days may feel manageable.

Others may feel unexpectedly difficult.
Ā

A song.

A photograph.

A familiar place.

An anniversary.

A smell.

A conversation.

Grief doesn't always arrive according to a schedule.
Ā

My Place After Lossā„¢ helps participants develop tools for recognizing these moments, responding to them with greater awareness, and building support around themselves.
Ā

For Individuals. Couples. Families.
Ā

Loss affects people differently—even people grieving the same loss.

One family member may want to talk.

Another may become quiet.

Someone may want to preserve everything exactly as it was.

Someone else may need change.
Ā

These differences don't necessarily mean someone is grieving incorrectly.
Ā

My Place After Lossā„¢ helps individuals and families understand their own experiences while learning how to remain connected to people whose grief may look different from theirs.
Ā

Faith-Integrated and Non-Faith Options
Ā

My Place After Lossā„¢ can be offered in both faith-integrated and non-faith-integrated formats.

The faith-integrated version provides opportunities to explore grief alongside Christian faith, prayer, Scripture, questions of meaning, remembrance, and hope.
Ā

The non-faith-integrated version focuses on grief, relationships, identity, meaning, coping, connection, and personal values without religious content.
Ā

Participants can choose the approach that best fits their needs.
Ā

What My Place After Lossā„¢ Is — and Isn't
Ā

My Place After Lossā„¢ provides structured education, reflection, practical tools, and opportunities for connection surrounding grief and loss.
Ā

Participation in an educational or support version of the program is not a substitute for individual mental health treatment.
Ā

Some individuals experiencing complicated grief, significant depression, trauma symptoms, thoughts of self-harm, or other serious mental health concerns may benefit from individualized assessment and professional treatment.
Ā

Clinical services, when offered, are provided separately through the appropriate licensed mental health practice.
Ā

You Can Remember and Still Move Forward.

There may always be a before.

And there may always be an after.

But "after" doesn't mean the story is over.

You can remember.

You can grieve.

You can reconnect.

You can rediscover meaning.

You can build a life that honors what mattered while making room for what is still possible.

Your place in this world can change without disappearing.
Ā

Honor. Heal. Remember. Move Forward.
