You Don’t Have to Keep Carrying the Past Into the Present

Trauma doesn’t always look like a crisis. Sometimes it shows up quietly—in anxiety that won’t settle, anger that feels bigger than the moment, difficulty trusting others, emotional numbness, trouble sleeping, or a constant sense of being on guard.

For children and teens, trauma may look like behavioral changes, withdrawal, irritability, emotional outbursts, difficulty concentrating, school struggles, or increased conflict at home. For adults, it may appear as relationship difficulties, avoidance, intrusive memories, anxiety, depression, or patterns that seem difficult to understand or change.

At Ethos Shoreline Counseling, trauma therapy provides a safe, supportive space to understand what happened, recognize how those experiences may still be affecting you, and begin moving toward healing.

Trauma Is About More Than What Happened

Trauma isn't defined only by the event itself. It can also involve what your mind and body learned they needed to do to survive or cope with an overwhelming experience.
