Sometimes one hour a week doesn’t feel like enough.
You may spend much of a traditional therapy session getting settled, reviewing what happened during the week, and beginning meaningful work—only to realize the session is almost over.
Intensive Therapy offers another way.
At Ethos Shoreline Counseling, intensive therapy provides extended, focused therapeutic time to work on specific concerns without being limited to the traditional weekly therapy hour. Depending on your needs and clinical appropriateness, intensives may be offered in extended sessions or structured across multiple days.
Intensive therapy may be especially helpful for individuals, parents, and couples who want dedicated time to address trauma, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, or relationship concerns.
Our intensive services focus on three areas:
What Does an Intensive Look Like?
Intensive therapy begins with an initial consultation and assessment to determine your concerns, treatment goals, history, current functioning, and whether an intensive format is clinically appropriate.
If an intensive is appropriate, we develop a personalized treatment plan based on what you want to address.
Depending on your needs, an intensive may include extended therapy sessions, structured breaks, psychoeducation, experiential interventions, skills practice, therapeutic processing, and a plan for integrating what you learn into everyday life.
Intensives are not one-size-fits-all. The structure and length of treatment are determined collaboratively based on clinical needs and treatment goals.
Is Intensive Therapy Right for Me?
An intensive may be worth considering if you:
-
Feel stuck despite understanding the problem
-
Want dedicated time to address a specific issue
-
Find that traditional sessions end just as deeper work begins
-
Have a particular trauma or experience you want to address
-
Need practical ADHD or executive functioning systems
-
Want concentrated family work around ADHD-related challenges
-
Are experiencing recurring relationship patterns that aren't improving
-
Want focused therapeutic work followed by continued support as needed
Intensive therapy is not appropriate for every person, couple, or clinical situation. An initial consultation helps determine whether this approach is a good fit and whether another level or type of care would better meet your needs.
You Don't Have to Keep Repeating the Same Pattern
Whether you're carrying something from the past, overwhelmed by ADHD and executive functioning challenges, or feeling disconnected from the person you love, change often begins when we have enough time and space to understand what is really happening.
More time can create room for deeper work.
Deeper work can create new possibilities.
