Ethos Shoreline Counseling

Helping You Find Calm, Clarity, and a Way Forward

Life can feel overwhelming when you know something needs to change, but you’re not quite sure how to make that change happen. Maybe your child is struggling with focus, emotional outbursts, school, or following through. Maybe your family feels caught in a cycle of reminders, frustration, arguments, and exhaustion. Or perhaps you’re an adult who has spent years dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship difficulties, or the feeling that you should be able to manage everything better than you are.

At Ethos Shoreline Counseling, therapy is a place to slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and develop practical ways to move forward. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s greater understanding, healthier relationships, stronger skills, and meaningful change that lasts.

Hello, I'm Joe Pollock

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, teens, adults, parents, couples, and families.

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, collaborative, and focused on helping people understand not only what they are struggling with, but why certain patterns keep happening.

I have a particular passion for working with individuals and families affected by ADHD and executive-functioning challenges.

Too often, struggles with organization, emotional regulation, motivation, task initiation, impulse control, or follow-through are interpreted as laziness, disrespect, lack of motivation, or defiance.

I see things differently.

When we understand the skills underneath the behavior, we can stop fighting the symptoms and begin building the skills that are actually needed.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe effective therapy should provide both understanding and practical change.

Insight matters, but insight alone is not always enough. Therapy should also help you develop tools that can be used outside the therapy room—in your home, relationships, school, work, and everyday life.

Depending on your needs, our work may include:

ADHD and executive-functioning strategies
Emotional regulation skills
Trauma-informed therapy
EMDR-informed interventions
Internal Family Systems (IFS) concepts
Cognitive and behavioral strategies
Parent coaching and support
Family-systems work
Communication and relationship skills
Practical routines, structures, and tools for daily life

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy is tailored to the person or family sitting in front of me.
